A Card of Firsts

I made this card for a friend at work to thank her for her kindness. My thought was to make her an easel card so she could put it on her desk. I had never made an easel card and they looked complicated. I had seen everyones else's and decided those are just oo hard for me!!! However, I thought one would be great for my friend, so I got on line and began searching for instructions. I found them on Splitcoast Stampers and various blogs. How easy they are once you overcome your mind!!
Next my freind is African American, so her tilda should have the same skin tone. I had never done any skin tone except caucasion. So I used looked up the best colors to use on "I Like Markers." My coloring turned out okay, but I will need to practice a little more on using these colors.

Last, I have been interested in trying new papers other then my Gina K paper, which I love!!! This time I used the Cryogen White Irisdescent paper. I like the shimmer of the paper with my markers, but it is not as easy to color and blend as my Gina K paper. I will use it though, because there are times when you just want that little bit of shimmer.

I am going to enter my card in the Magnolia Birthday Bash challenge. I don't know if I have enough bling on my card, but I have Stickles and my iridescent paper. Hopefully that is enough shine and bling!!!

In any case, here is my card. I hope that you like it and will leave a comment. Any CC is also welcome.

Here is a closer view of my coloring:

Copic Markers used:

Skin: E25, E27, E29, R22 or R24

Hair: C3, C5, C7, C9

Outfit: V000, V12, V15, V17

Flower: G07, YG03, YG 16, Y000, Y11, Y13, Y21, Y26

Have a great day and happy stamping!!
