Pink and Yellow Challenge Card

I created a pink and yellow card for the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Pat invited me to join in the challenge even though I am not sure my cards are good enough to be entered into a challenge. However, I had fun creating and making this card. Pink is one of my favorite colors and yellow does look nice with it (Of course, I added a little purple as well as that is my other favorite color. I guess I am just a typical girl.) I chose to use a bright pink instead of a pastel pink as I enjoy the jewel colors more than the pastel colors. I also got to ink up one of my new Magnolia Stamps from my pre-order and use my new Magnolia Doohickey die called Doily Flowers. I just love this Snowy Hugs stamp. I knew when I saw it that I would get that one as it can also be used after Christmas for just a winter card. When I created my first flowers with the Doily Flower dies, I thought that these dies create beautiful flowers. I attached the small and large flowers together with an antique brad from Stampin' Up.

Here are a couple pictures of my card:

Mentor/Peer Card

I made a card for my mentor/peer at work. He has been going through some rough times at work and personally, so I wanted to send him a card that said hang in there. I received this stamp in my summer kit (Hanging Edwin) and thought that it would be a great one to use. It seemed to go with the sentiment of... Hang in there, but better still he had been in the navy. Therefore, nautical theme works.

I have had this card in my head for a while. I wanted to use the seabackground and use acetate to create the image of a window. To do this I stamped and colored the image first. Then I stamped it again and only colored the outside part of the image. I cut out the middle or window on the image. Then I attached the acetate to the second image and put silver brads to imitate rivits on the porthole. I then layered this on the first image and popped it up using dimensionals. I was pleased with the result.

Here is the front of my card:

Following are the supplies that I used:

Card Stock: Stampin' Up and Couture

Designer Series Paper: Stampin' Up

Ribbon: Stampin' Up

Brads: From Stash/Hobby Lobby

Acetate: From Stash

Coloring: Copic Markers (Sorry, I did not keep track of the colors that I used)

Rub Ons: American

I hope that you like my card. Leave me a message and tell me if you think the acetate worked to give it that window feel. Have a great stamping day!!

Fall Wedding Card

My nephew was married on October 30th. I was supposed to attend his wedding, but was so sick I couldn't attend. I will travel home to WV to visit and take this card that I made for him and his new bride. I hope that they like the card and the gift card that I purchased for them. They are putting together a new home together, so I thought that I would just give them a gift card. That way they can purchase whatever they need or want for their new home.

Here is the front of the card that I made:
