Happy Spring!!

Yesterday, I finished my second Tilda card. I wanted to do something for Spring, so I chose an image out of the new Hoppy Easter Collection and paired it with the Magnolia Swing. I used the Tilda with Flower in her Hair image. This image is just great for Easter and spring.

All of the colored card stock, designer paper, ribbon, tag punches, and corduroy buttons are from Stampin' Up. The flowers are Prima. The glass garland is from Magnolia. Although, the pictures does not reflect this, the color of the glass garland is light pink.





Instead of using my flowers as an embellishment in one of the corners, I wanted to use them as blooms on the tree branch. This reminded me of spring. I use dimensionals to pop the Tilda image and the tag out on the card. Below is my image.

My First Magnolia Card

Today I finished my first Magnolia Card. Since I have been coloring images for quite some time, I thought that I would start with one of my finished images. However, in trying to use my copic airbrush system for the first time, I destroyed that image and had to start over. (The airbrush system definitely takes some practice.) Several hours later, and here she is. I used Beach Tilda and the coordinating bathing ring. I picked her because I am so ready for Spring and Summer that she seemed like a great choice.

In any case, here is a picture of my card:

She is a little more involved in putting her together than most images. I stamped Tilda first and then used my stamp positioner to get the bathing ring right where I needed it to be. I then used my Labels 4 nesties to cut out the image. I left the image in the nestie and used my airbrush to add the water and sky colors. I used a little darker pen to add shading to the water. Since I wanted to paper piece the bathing ring image, I stamped that image on DSP and cut it out. I glued that paper pieced image over the original image matching up the images. The next step was to stamp another Beach Tilda image, color the image and cut the image out. I then glued the cut out image over the paper pieced bathing ring and the original image mathching up the images. The rest of the card was just puting all of the other pieces together.

First Post

Today is my first day using a blog. I have not ever had a blog before, but I have have had others ask me if I had a blog where I share the cards that I make. I have resisted up until now as, although I am not completly technologically challenged, I still feel overwhelmed. However, I have seen some amazing cards and projects on blogs and I just feel that it is time to take the plunge. My blog will be generic until I can figure all of this out. A person has to start somewhere, though!!

I have really love the Magnolia Stamps and copic markers are amazing!! I love that I can get a vivid bright color with a watercolor blending technique. I hope to have some card samples soon. Until then I hope that you will enjoy some of my other work. The picture above is for a class that I am having in my home. Later, I will have some Tilda cards to share.
