First New Year Post-Long Post

For my first post of the new year, I have to say thanks, to Jacque of Jacque's Joie De Vivre. If you have been to her blog, you know that she makes some of the most beautiful cards that I have ever seen. She is also very generous and has sweet stuff givaways. From time to time, I enter to win her givaways. Well, I was the winner of one of her sweet stuff giveaways. I received my package full of great things right before Christmas. Here is a picture ot the items that I won.

I can tell you that the spa items in the basket have such a wonderful berry fragrance. THANK YOU, JACQUE!!!

Also if you have not entered her Sunday Sensations yet, you need to do so this coming Sunday. You have until Tuesday when she selects the weeks winner to enter for that week. Diana Crick of Magnolia-Licious is sponsoring this event and there are some great giveaways. So on Sunday, go to Jacque's blog and enter her Sunday Sensations!!!

Next, I wanted to share with you the December Mingle Card that I made for Charlene Bessken. She has already received this card, so I am not going to spoil the surprise. I really liked how this card turned out and the colors are two of my favorites. Below are my pictures of the front and inside of my card.

I used one of my Mini Magnolia Stamps for the front and they are just the right size for the front of an 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 size card. I also was trying something different with this card. I love the kind of watercolor techinique that many use with the distressed inks to create a background, so I tried to get this same effect with my copics by dotting the background with my copic and then using grays to go over the dotting to get a muted or washed out effect. I am still experimenting, but I can say that I did like the effect that it gave this image.

My next card was for my my good friend, Beth's, birthday. Her birthday is on January 1st. My card did not make it to her quite on her birthday, but just after. Beth is the person who taught me to stamp and make cards, so I wanted to picked colors that I knew that she would like. I made her an easel card, so she could set it up in her craft area to remember her special day. These image were from my winter kit and are now available to preorder from the So Special Collection. These images are just perfect for birthdays. Following are pictures of this card.

In these pictures, I hope that you can see that background effect that I have been working on.

My last post for this evening is the card I made for my January Mingle partner Angelique Nederpel. This card is going all the way to the Netherlands. I mailed it today and hope that she receives it before the end of the month. In any case, I used one of the very first Magnolia images that I ever purchased. I got this stamp because I really like it, but then I wasn't sure what I could do with it. However, when I purchased this year's Spellbinder's snowfake pendant die, I knew that I could use this with that image. In any case, here are the pictures of this card. I had trouble getting good pictures of this card as there is so much glitz on the card, but I hope that you will be able to see them well enough.

Because this is such a long post, I didn't post the items that I used. If you are wanting to know any of that information, you are welcome to contact me through the Magnolia-Licious yahoo group. My email address is in the database there.

I would like to enter this card in a couple of challenges:

Magnolia-licious Highlights Challenge - Recipe Challenge

Wild Orchid Challenge - Challenge 14- A sketch by Bev

I hope that you have a great crafting week.
